KJig is intended to be a major extension of the old existing XJig Jigsaw Puzzle game for X.
In a first phase KJig will be a KDE-only Jigsaw puzzle game using the QT and KDE widgets.
Most functionnalities provided by XJig will be available in KJig, but through a user-friendly GUI.
The features that KJig should support are:
- Accept major image formats as input (PNG, JPEG, GIF, BMP).
Of course all image formats supported by QT will be supported, and more formats may be supported using conversion libraries or tools (e.g. ImageMagick)
- Loading an Saving Jigsaw Puzzle game session, so one can assemble the Jigsaw puzzle at different times.
- Feature for defining puzzle games that can be exchanged (merge of image and Puzzle properties)
- Separate rendering module and jigsaw puzzle core to make porting easier and open the way for hardware acceleration (direct X Server drawing, OpenGL, ...)
